Nancy Ella Moss was born in Chattooga Valley, Chattooga county, Georgia in 1859. She was the daughter of Augustus Clayton Moss (1824-1902) and Rachel Banks Moss (1827-1910). She married William Benjamin Mason (1852-1913) on Dec. 10, 1874. She and William had seven children: Augustus Marvin Mason (1876-1922), Dick Moss Mason (1878-1964), Mary Rachel Mason (1881-1914), Grover Clark Mason (1886-1946), William Benjamin Mason (1891-1979), Nannie Ella Mason (1896-1967) and John Harold Mason (1899-1946).

William Benjamin Mason and Nancy Ella spent their married lives in Homer.
