The Marion Register Wednesday January 30, 1907
Mr. Daniel Guzzle one of Marion's oldest citizens, died, Monday evening. Funeral services this afternoon, at the house on south 10th street.

The Late Daniel Guzzle.
Mr. Daniel Guzzle, was born in Salem, Indiana, on the 22nd of August, 1832. He was left parentless when 5 years old and was taken to Missouri, where he lived until he was 17, when he came to Marion, which place has since then been his home.
On the 30th of January, 1859, he married Miss Nancy Nott, who died on the 31st of May, 1886. Ten children were born to their union: Six sons, Lincoln, of St. Paul, Minn.; Thaddeus, in Colorado; Charles and Harley, in Marion, and four daughters, Mrs. Isora Beiber, of Marion; Mrs. Alice Horan, of Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Anna Logan, of Minneapolis. Two sons and a daughter, Mrs. Ella Lee, have gone before.
After some months of failing health the end came suddenly on the evening of the 28th of January, 1907, at the home of his youngest son, Harley. He was 77 years 3 months and 8 days old. He leaves to mourn his departure; four sons, three daughters, eight grandchildren, besides other relatives and friends. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at the house; Rev. L.M. Starr, pastor of the Christian church, officiating.
