Ralph Frederick Beermann

U.S. Congressman. After graduating from Morningside College, he served as a Master Sergeant in the 601st Ordnance Battalion, 301st Ordnance Regiment, U.S. Army, African-European Theaters, during World War II. After the war, he partnered with his brothers raising cattle in Dakota County, Nebraska. In 1961, he was elected as a Republican to the Eighty-seventh and to the Eighty-eighth Congresses, serving until 1965. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he resumed his previous business interests. He lost his life at age 64 when the single engine plane he was piloting crashed. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
