Organized at Grand Rapids, Mich., and mustered into service on November 18, 1863. Attached to District of North Central Kentucky and District of East Tennessee.

* Gillem's Expedition into East Tennessee.
* Expedition from East Tennessee toward Southwest Virginia
* Stoneman's Raid into Southwest Virginia.
* Battles at Marion, Wytheville,and Saltville, Va.,
* Skirmish at Clinch Mountain.
* Duty at Knoxville.
* Stoneman's Expedition from East Tennessee into Southwest Virginia and Western North Carolina.

Mustered out November 11, 1865.

2 Officers and 29 Enlisted men killed or mortally wounded.
240 Enlisted men to disease.
