During World War II, Edward was an Army "Aircorp" Sergeant in the 28th Depot Repair Squad. He enlisted on march 18th 1942 and separted from the Army on December 30, 1945.

During the war he recieved a work speciality as a airplane sheetmetal worker. He was stationed in the Pacific. According to him it was near the Guadalcanal and Paupa New Guinea.

After the war he was marred a few times and finally spending the rest of his married life with Anne Dattner. In his private life he worked as a building inspector on Fire Island, New York. Ocean Beach is a seasonal community that very few make a year round community. Ed also was the cheif of the fire department for two terms.
