At first, I thought this person's name was "Mutter" (the name etched on the top of the headstone). Upon taking a second look, I wonder if "Mutter" might mean "Mother" in the German language. I was told by an Antelope Valley Sheriff officer today that the Palmdale Cemetery was established as a German cemetery from the time the Germans first inhabited Palmdale, California. At any rate, after what looks like Feb. 26 on the headstone, it reads "maerz 1826" and then it looks like it says Gest. 5 April 1894. I do not know how to make a copy of the headstone. If anybody who reads this can help me, please send me an e-mail.
