- Gilbert Brown was born in Stephentown, Rensselaer county, N. Y., in 1808, and removed to Salisbury in 1826. He was married to Parmelia Ann Satterley of Mayfield, Fulton,NY in 1831, by whom he has four sons and five daughters. He is by occupation a farmer, and was formerly
engaged in lumbering to some extent.
