MRS. WILLIAM ZIKMUND DIES

This community was greatly shocked to hear of the sudden death on Monday of Mrs. William Zikmund at the farm home just east of Ord. The family but recently removed to the place, lately vacated by Henry VanSlyke. A baby boy was born to them about a week before the death of the mother but she was believed to be getting along fine until a short time before her death when she complained of her limbs and hands being numb and asked her husband to rub them. He called a doctor at once, though she assured him that it was not necessary and she died a few moments after the arrival of the physician. Evidently heart failure was the cause of the death. She had the flu some weeks ago and when a child suffered with heart trouble which it was thought was entirely outgrown. No doubt it was brought on again by the flu. Besides the baby boy a week old there is a little girl between one and two years old.
Mrs. Zikmund was, before her marriage, Lulu Edna Albers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Albers. She was born in Lancaster county, January 18th, 1898 and at the time of her death Monday of this week was 21 years 2 months and 19 days old. Most of her life was spent in Valley county. She was married to William Zikmund June 20, 1916. Besides her husband and two children, she leaves to mourn her untimely death, her parents and six sisters and three brothers. The brothers are William Albers of Lincoln and Edward and Arthur of Ord, and her sisters are Esther of Lincoln, Mrs. Pearl Mathewson of Lincoln, Mrs. Albert McLain, Mrs. Rhynie Christiansen, Mrs. Henry Benn all of Ord and Mrs. Minnie Axthelm of North Loup.
The funeral will be held at 2 pm tomorrow. Friday afternoon, Rev. Knight officiating.
