Monday, January 16, Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Harshman attended the funeral of Mrs. T. J. Lewis in Washington, Iowa. Mrs. Lewis died January 14 in a hospital in Nashville, Tenn.

Mrs. Lewis and her husband came to Mulberry to live in 1917 when Mr. Lewis and his brother, Samuel C. Lewis, bought the local lumber yard from J. Frank Smith. Ill health about three years later forced T. J. Lewis to give up active business and the family moved from Mulberry to Washington, Iowa, where he died in 1925.

For the last several years his widow and her daughter, Miss Edna Lewis, have lived in Nashville, where Miss Lewis is head of the Public Health Nursing Department of Peabody college.

Mrs. Lewis would have been 93 years of age next March. Besides Miss Edna Lewis, she is survived by two other daughters, Mrs. C. C. Hensler of Auburndale, Fla., and Mrs. F. V. Westhafer of Tulsa, Okla.; a son, J. Lloyd Lewis of Dennard, Ark.; 12 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
