Isaac quarrelled with his father,Joseph Brant, and received a scalp wound at Dundurn Park [Bihserihneh] he died in the vicinity of Brantford, in the year 1795 as a result. He was born about the year 1762, in New York State, at Canajoharie Castle, and was educated in the neighborhood, probably at Fort Hunter in 1771 but completed at Niagara. Isaac was the great grandson of Sagayeathquapiethtow, who went to England, in 1710, to visit Queen Anne. Isaac was the grandson of "Owandah" or "Sagetageatat" or Margaret Brant. After the Revolutionary War he married Mary Hill, (Athahondis'on, a Mohawk)
Two girls were born of this marriage, named Ellen Brant married Joseph Lotteridge and Margaret Brant who married Jacob Lewis,aka: Dakerhidontyeh.
Ellen, the eldest,was married about the time of her grandfather's death at Burlington Beach, to Joseph Lotteridge and five children were born of this union, namely:
1] Mary (Mary was married three times: first, to Daniel Doxtater, a Mohawk; the second time to Samson Hess, also a Mohawk; and the third time to Rev. Abram Sickle, an Oneida) ,
2] Margaret (married to John Sawyer),
3] Esther born March 20th, 1821, married, first to Peter Powless, a Mohawk. Lydia and Peter were born of this union. Esther's second marriage was to Cornelius Cornelius, an Oneida. Her son Peter, Chief Shadekariwade, married Catherine Henhawk.
4] Catharine born in 1829. She married William Canada Maricles, a Bay of Quinte Mohawk Catharine died, July 25th, 1892, leaving three sons. She had one daughter, who died previous to her mother, and who was married to David Williams. The three sons are living, namely, William Henry, married to Mary Hill; Samuel Daniel, married to Hannah Hill Jacket; and John Peter, married to Mary Ann Gonwaninow Hill.
5] Isaac [1827-1913] Married three times: first to Lydia Powless,b.1854 child; Elizabeth (m.Jason Wilson); second, to Catherine Ducan; third, to ?? Garlow.
