"FULTONVILLE---Leon L. Wells, husband of Anna Weakley Wells, passed away at his home in Oak Ridge, Town of Charleston, at 9:45 o'clock Tuesday evening, following a brief illness caused by a stroke. He was 61 years of age. Mr. Wells was born April 26, 1878, in Oak Ridge, the son of the late William E. Wells and Mary E. Gordon Wells. For several years he followed the occupation of carpenter. He also conducted a farm for some time. He was a member of the Board of Supervisors some years ago, in which he served as its chairman and from 1934 to 1938, he was again elected to the Board of Supervisors and served on several of its important committees. For the past few years he had operated a gas station opposite his home at Oak Ridge. The survivors are his wife, one daughter, Miss Evalyn Wells of Albany; brother Aurie Wells of Oak Ridge; sister, Mrs. Katherine Wormuth of Amsterdam, also several nieces and nephews. The body was brought to the Charels M. Welch funeral home, Fultonville, where the funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Harry E. Christiana, pastor of the Fultonville Reformed church will officiate. Interment will be made in the Sloansville cemetery."
