May Funeral Held Saturday Afternoon

Bonnell Resident Passes Away Last Thursday Noon At The Age of 66 Years


Funeral services for Mrs. Catherine May, wife of Morton May, were held at the Fitch Bros. funeral home at 2 p.m. Saturday by Rev. E. E. McConnell, pastor of the Christian Church. Burial was in Greendale cemetery.

Mrs. May died at her home near Bonnell Thursday at noon, at the age of 66 years. She had been ill for two months and was a patient in the hospital at Milan two weeks.

Mrs. May was born in Grant County, Ky., the daughter of John and Caroline Pipes Long. Her mother is now 91 years of age and her husband 81.

She had lived in Indiana for 18 years and the past two years at Bonnell.

Survivors are three sons, Ralph May, of Charlestown, Ind., Stanley at home, Arthur at Harrison; one daughter, Mrs. Lottie Beagle, of Covington, Ky.; two brothers, Tom Long, of Enterprise, Arthur Long, of Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Peelman of Enterprise, Mrs. Flora Valentine, of Florence, and one grandchild.

Her father and one son, Ernest May, who was drowned in the Ohio River are deceased.

Nancy Katherine "Katie" Long was the daughter of John Long and Caroline Pipes. She married Morton May on January 19, 1893 in Owen County, KY.

Their children:

•1. Mayme Lotta "Lottie" May born November 1896.

•2. Robert Morton May born December 23, 1898 in Owen County, KY.

•3. Stanley May born about 1901 in Owen County, KY.

•4. Arthur Joseph May born March 24, 1906 and died November 25, 1986 in Webster, Sumter County, FL.

•5. Ernest L. May born 19 May 1915 in Carroll County, KY. He died July 20, 1929 in Lawrenceburg, Dearborn County, IN.
