Tami Sue Miller Gurule, 44, beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend, departed this life on Nov. 5, 2004.

She was born Oct. 14, 1960, in Charles City, Iowa, to Clayton Wayne Miller Jr. and Juaneta Tynan Miller. She was the second of three children. Their family resided in Iowa, Minnesota, and Nebraska, before settling in Longmont, where she graduated from Skyline High School. In high school, she was on the cheerleading squad and involved in many hobbies that brought her joy.

She enjoyed photography and woodworking and learned to quilt at a young age. She was known for her quilts that were lovingly made for family and friends through the years.

Tami will be remembered for her love of animals, large and small. Seldom was she seen without an animal in her arms.

She had a very real sense of right and wrong. Being strong-willed, she fought for what she believed was right. Not only was she passionate in her beliefs and convictions, she used this strength to benefit others. She selflessly opened her heart and home to everyone.

By far the most important thing in her life was her family. She was a full-time wife and mother as well as part owner of the Sandy Point Inn in Boulder.

She is survived by her husband, Sam Gurule; son, Jaime; daughters, Kassi and Brandi; parents, Wayne Miller and Juaneta Miller; sister Kim Miller and husband, Rick Smith; father-in-law, Sam Gurule Sr.; brother-in-law, Robert Gurule and wife Kimberly; sisters-in-law, Lydia Shuler and husband Tim and Carol Hamilton and husband Bill; and her nieces and nephews, Samantha Gurule, Mitchel Gurule, Tim Shuler and Michelle Wisnia; and the Mario Valenti family.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Kelly Miller; mother-in-law, Virginia Gurule; and special family friend, Keli Valenti.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. today, Nov. 9, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Berthoud.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Gurule family in care of Allnutt Hunter Chapel, 2100 N. Lincoln Ave., Loveland, 80538. 667-1121.
