Monday, March 21, 1949 Daily Mail ~ Reburial Services Pvt. Howard Bowers ~ Reburial services for Pvt. Howard J. Bowers, Jr., Funkstown, will be conducted from the Suter Funeral Home tomorrow at 2 p.m.
The interment will be in the Funkstown cemetery for the soldier, who was killed in Germany on September 15, 1944. He was 20 years old. The Funkstown American Legion will provide pallbearers.
Pvt. Bowers entered the service in March, 1943, serving in the 224th Infantry of the 106th Division. He trained at Fort Jackson, S.C.
Before entering the service, he was employed at the Moller Pipe Organ Works.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Eva Betts; sister, Mrs. Naomi Warrenfeltz; brothers, Edwin and Merle, all of Funkstown.
