ROCHELLE - Lyle H. Cross, 89, Rochelle, died this morning at Rochelle Community Hospital.

He was born June 17, 1904 in Flagg, the son of Thomas and Mary (O'Brien) Cross. In 1937, he married Mabel Elliott. She preceded him in death in 1951.

Also predeceasing him was a son, Lyle; a stepson; a stepdaughter; 5 grandchildren; 3 brothers; and a sister.

Cross was employed as a farmer and later with Del Monte, the Rochelle Printing Company and the state highway department. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Rochelle, and Moose Lodge 903.

Survivors include a son, Clifford E, Rochelle, 2 daughters, Mrs. David (Patricia) Kasmar and Mrs. Don (Shirley) Hall, both of Rochelle; a brother, Paul, California; 17 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Services are Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Lyons Cluts-Simes Funeral Home with the Rev. John Place officiating. Visitors may call 7-9 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Lawnridge Cemetery.

Memorials have been established for Faith Lutheran Church and the Rochelle Manor.
