Mrs. Loyd was born in Polk County, daughter of the late Naomi Patterson Shiflett and Charles Shiflett and had spent most of her life in Rome. She was a member of Hollywood Baptist Church and prior to ill health was hostess at the Forrest Hotel.
Survivors include her husband, James Mark Loyd; two daughters, Mrs. Barbara Dotson and Mrs. Mary Owens, both of Rome; one sister, Mrs. Eva Hyde of Rome; three brothers, Jack and Joe Shiflett, both of Rome and Bill Shiflett of Atlanta.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Heritage Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with the Revs. Eddie Williams and Ronnie Wallace officiating. Interment will be in East View Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Charles Hyde, Tommy, Tim and Bill Shiflett, Herschel Cantrell and Jimmy Duke.
