James Mark Loyd, 71, Rome Rte. 8, Beard Lake Road, died at 10:55 p.m. Sunday at his residence following an illness of five months.
Mr. Loyd was born in Columbus, Dec. 17, 1910, son of the late Mary and Myrtle Storey Loyd and had resided in Rome 30 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Columbus and prior to retirement was associated with Saco Lowell Company 40 years. He was a member of Rome Elks Lodge. His wife, the former Mary Ruby Shiflett died Nov. 18, 1980.
Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Barbara Gail Dotson, Rome Rte. 8; four grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in East View Cemetery with the Revs. Eddie Williams and Donald Penson officiating.
Pallbearers are Tommy and Bill Shiflett, Hushell Cantrell, Gary Childers, Jack and Benny Shiflett, Robert Garrett, Kirby Odon and Herman Hyde.
