Burial was in Clarinda Wednesday for Charles Bennett, 87, long-time grocer who had lived at Spencer, Ia, in recent years.

He died Monday at Spencer, where he had his own home even since the death of his wife a few years ago. The Bennetts were Clarindans in the 1920's, and since then a daughter, Mrs Walter (Maxine) Lawson, and son, Harold, have both died. Walter Lawson of Spencer was a son-in-law.

The funeral was held at Spencer, and the body brought for burial in the Clarinda Cemetery with the Rev D.C. Davis, Westminster United Presbyterian minister, in charge at the graveside. CLARINDA HERALD-JOURNAL, Clarinda, Iowa, Jul 14, 1960
