Nola Allen Green Beck, 90, of Nampa, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2009.

Nola was born in Banida, Idaho, on Nov. 8, 1918, to James LeRoy and Melissa Lowe. Their family consisted of six sons and two daughters. When Nola was 3 years old, her mother passed away in childbirth and Nola went to live with her Aunt Mae until her father remarried Lola Barkdull. Nola grew up in eastern Idaho, near Pocatello.

She married Charles D. Allen on April 6, 1936, and they had three daughters and three sons. Nola and Charlie moved several times, finally settling in Idaho Falls, where she worked for the local school district. Charlie died in September 1976.

In July 1979, Nola married Eldon Green of Aberdeen, Idaho. For the next 16 years, they lived in Aberdeen on Eldon's Farm. Eldon passed away in April 1995. Nola later married Bruce Beck of Aberdeen, who died shortly thereafter. She relocated to Nampa in January 1998 to be near her daughters, Bonnie and Evalyn.

Nola was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, singing in many ward choirs and serving in multiple capacities. She was most proud of the mission she served with her husband, Eldon. They served the people of South Carolina. Nola also served a mission in Orlando, Fla.

She had many talents that blessed the lives of those she knew. She was well-known for her homemade chocolates that she made every Christmas. Nola made numerous quilts, and she particularly loved to crochet doilies, tablecloths and dolls. Her favorites were the dolls that she made and dressed. Her dolls won numerous awards at the Eastern Idaho State Fair.

Nola was preceded in death by her husbands; an infant son, James; daughter, Nola Rae; and several grandchildren. She is survived by her loving children, Evalyn (Carl) Hairing of Nampa, Bonnie (Joe) Tague of Nampa, and Randy (DiAnn) Allen and Kent (Cathy) Allen, both from Idaho Falls; 18 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; her brothers, Dee and Dell Lowe; and sisters, Nora Lee and Anna Mae. Nola was well-loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
