Juanita was four months old when her mother died of tubercolosis. Her father kept the 3 year old daughter, Beulah Virginia Gresham, but relinquished the baby for adoption. He apparently didn't think he could handle two small children.
Juanita's father always regretted this decision and tried to find his daughter until his death.

January, 2013 - -Absolutely Wonderful News! I have been contacted by Juanita's daughter, after she found this page and that of Juanita's mother, Beulah. We are both thrilled to find each other. There are more family members on both sides who are frantically emailing back and forth about the news that Juanita is found and that her birth parents have been found.
Below is information her daughter, Rosemary, sent to me.
Juanita Oldine Gresham was adopted by Enos Purcell and Clara Purcell. Her name after adoption was Mary Ellen Purcell. She died on November 22, 1987 and is buried at Calvary Cemetery in Los Angeles, in the same plot as her adopted father, Enos Purcell.
