Homer J is the son of William McSherry and Sarah Alice Irene Kennedy Cook.

Homer was born June 17, 1894 at Waterloo, Iowa, a son of William and Sarah Cook.

In 1898 he moved with his parents to a farm six miles north of Bowdon where he was reared.

He married Hazel Jorenby Oct. 18, 1923 in Bowdon.
They lived and farmed southwest of Heaton for 17 years.

In 1940, they purchased a farm west of Heaton and farmed there until 1980.

They since have lived in Fessenden.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Willard, Great Falls, Mont., Melvin, Sheyenne; daughter, Jean Cook, New Rockford; five grandchildren; brother, Pat, Carrington.
