Carol was born April 12, 1936, in Oak City, Utah, to Roy Jesse Barlow and Nell Lovell Barlow. She grew up Lucin, Brigham City, and Manila, Utah, and graduated from high school. She also graduated from Utah State University, with a bachelor's degree in education.
On August 10, 1956 she married William Marshall Briggs in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. They made their home in Manila, Utah, for many years, then lived in Provo and Price, Utah before coming to Ammon 12 years ago. Carol was a homemaker and mother and also taught school.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Carol enjoyed reading her "candle" (Kindle) and watching her grandkids grow.
Carol is survived by her husband of nearly 55 years, William, two sons, Marshall Briggs of Lindon, UT, and Bevan William Briggs of Pasco, WA; two daughters, Kristee Marchell Hunting of Kent, WA, and Marcie Lynn Rozack of Idaho Falls, ID; a brother, Wesley Barlow of Brigham City, UT; and 20 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, with Bishop Scott Noble of the Ammon LDS 16th Ward officiating. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery.
