US Congressman. Educated at public schools, he worked as an iron molder, was a member of the board of supervisors for the City and County of San Francisco in 1911 and Secretary of the San Francisco Labor Council, in 1912. In 1913, he was elected as a Republican to the Sixty-third Congress and to the next four succeeding Congresses and served until his death at age 48.
