Marguerite Cates Annis, 93, died at her daughters home in Laredo, TX, on Tuesday, January 4, 2011.

Born October 17, 1917, in Dayton, TN, she grew up in a lively family with 10 siblings. She spent her adult years in East Ridge, TN.

She was preceded in death by first husband, Gordon Wooten and second husband, Clarence G. (Dooley) Annis. She and Dooley owned and operated the C&S Market on Ringgold Road for more than 20 years.

Her daughters Linda Elizabeth Pease and Gloria Elaine Dickson also preceded Mrs. Annis in death.

She is survived by her loving grandchildren, Mark H. Pease and his wife, Lizeth, Elizabeth M. Pease, Rebekah Chadwick Johnson and her husband, Ed; and grandsons, Phillip and Tim Chadwick. She is also survived by son-in-law, Mark C. Pease; and great-grandchildren, Mark H., Sofia and Ashley Pease, Jordyn Johnson and Hailee Lovell Ray. Her great-great-grandchildren include, Ava Rose and Lily May.

Graveside Memorial service will be held at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South, on Thurssday, June 16, 2011 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. and Honorable Sam H. Payne officiating.

Arrangements are by Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 8214 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, TN.
