Mrs. Stephen Andelt, 53, took her own life at her home eight and one-half miles northwest of Crete at nine o’clock Monday morning, according to County Attorney Emil J. Eret of Crete. Mrs. Andelt had been in poor health for some time.
Mrs. Emma Andelt was born September 24, 1884 on a farm southeast of Crete, where she lived until 18 years old. She attended the country school. On February 4, 1902 she was married to Stephen Andelt. They went to housekeeping on a farm eight and one-half miles northwest of Crete and have lived there since. Her entire life was spent in Saline County. Her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Vit Sedlacek, preceded her in death.
Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Stephen Jr. and Wencel, at home; two brothers, Vit Sedlacek of Omaha, and J.W. Sedlacek of Crete; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Franta of Omaha; Mrs. Tony Wolfe of Clay Center; Mrs. Anna Dunder of Palmer; and Mrs. V.J. Prucha of Crete.
Funeral services were held at Crete Sokol Hall at 2:00 p.m. yesterday, April 14th, with Rev. K.O. Zavadil officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Joe Shebl, Miss Emma Nedela, Mrs. Ed Plouzek, and Mrs. Thomas J. Dredla. Interment was made in the Blue Valley cemetery. Pallbearers were Vit Sedlacek, Roy Sedlacek, Vencil Franta of Omaha; Joe Dunder of Palmer, V.J. Prucha, and J.W. Sedlacek.
