Enl in 1780 in Guilford Co, N. C. and served for 6 mos as Pvt under Capt Tobias Whitsel. Br Mch 8, 1754, in Berks Co, Pa. Mar Elizabeth Lutz. Children: Fannie, Elizabeth, Catherine, Sarah, Mary, Philip Jr., Henry, Michael, George, Simon P. D. June 14, 1846, Miamisburg, O. Bur Hill Grove Cem, Miamisburg, O. Lot No 281, near main entrance, MI "Born March 8, 1754; Died June 14, 1846. Aged 92 years, 6 months, and 6 days." GM Richard Montgomery Chap, S. A. R. May 1919. Romoved to N. C. and finally to Montgomery Co, O. Built a flour mill (the first on th Miami River) in the north part of Miamisburg, in 1812. Had a contract for 500 barrels of flour for the army in 1812.
