According to "The Semi-Weekly Farm News" newspaper printed Dallas, TX Mar 27, 1934 p 5, a Hilton Bybee escaped from the Houston Co, TX jail in Mar, 1934. He was described as a "desperado and lifetime convict". He and another man escaped, drove the jailer's car to Ft Worth, TX and robbed a man of Dublin, TX of his car and some money near Lake Worta. They then drove toward Jacksboro, Jack Co, Tx. They then headed toward Amarillo, TX where Bybee had been captured a few weeks earlier after escaping from the Eastham Prison farm.
