Woodie married Leora Fay Dover (1929-2013) on July 13, 1945 in Hillsboro, TX. One daughter, Betty Joyce Kelley Swanson of Burleson, TX.

Woodrow L. "Woodie" Kelley, 87, a loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005, in Alvarado. Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Emerald Hills Memorial Chapel of Kennedale. Burial: Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Kelley was born to the late W. Oscar and Etta Kelley Nov. 4, 1917, in Mount Calm. Woodie married Leora Fay Dover July 13, 1945, in Hillsboro. Mr. Kelley served as a medic in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a former POW, earning the Silver Star, Good Conduct Medal and two Purple Hearts.

Woodie was a charter member and past commander of the Fort Worth Ex-POW chapter, a life member of the American Ex-POW, life member of VFW Post 8911 and life member of DAV Bluebonnet Circle Chapter 20 and a 51-year member of Masonic Lodge 925.

He retired from Bell Helicopter after 20 years service. Woodie was a member of Cana Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening and country and western dancing. He will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.

Mr. Kelley was preceded in death by parents; grandson, Bryan Keith Kelley; two sisters; and four brothers.

Survivors: Wife of 60 years, Leora Fay Kelley; daughter, Betty Kelley Swanson; granddaughter, Tiffany Augusta Breaux, all of Burleson; great-grandchildren, Angel Renee Kelley of Burleson and Nolan Bryan Turner of Crowley; brothers, William L. "Bill" Kelley of California and Odell Kelley of Italy, Texas; sisters, Dorothy Ragland of California, Lometa Raley of Corsicana and Betty Ruth McGar of Fort Worth; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
