Brent Lane Albers, age 44, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at home, surrounded by his family and friends, following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Reedsburg on Sept. 19, 1966, to Alan and Sallye (Mabry) Albers. He graduated from Sauk Prairie High School in 1985 and went on to get his bachelor of science in agricultural economics from UW-Madison. Brent married the love of his life, Kim Jackson on June 8, 1991. Brent managed and operated the family farm, Albers' Colonial Acres with his father. Later he started his own custom farming business, Brent's Ag. Service and his own trucking business, Albers' Trucking.

Brent truly loved farming; he put all of his heart and soul into it. He enjoyed going to Leland to visit with the neighborhood farmers and historians, and also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends. Brent officiated wrestling and football and loved spending time with the crew. He served on the Sauk Prairie FFA Alumni board, Pork Producers, Young Farmers and the FSA board.

He is survived by his wife, Kim; their three children, Sally 15, Sarah 11, and Lane 3; his father, Alan (Shirley) Albers; brothers, Greg (Theresa) Albers and Jeff Albers; extended family, Russ and Norma Fenske, and Gladys Holden; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Maxine Jackson; brothers-in-law, Jim (Cindy) Jackson and Tim (Deb) Jackson; honorary brother, Dave (Carmen) Kaltenberg; nieces, Clancy Albers, Jorie Jackson, Joscelyn Jackson, Justine (Justin) Buroker and Leanne Toney; nephews, Jonathan Albers, Gus Albers, Holden Jackson, Jacob Jackson and Peyton Buroker; honorary daughters, Kylie and Lexi Kaltenberg; as well as many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sallye Albers; grandparents, Clarence and Hazel Albers, and Rufus (Florence) Mabry and Sarah Mabry.
