Funeral services for Jessie David Allen, 89, of Statesboro will be held at 11 a.m Tuesday at Barnes Funeral Home. Mr. Allen died Sunday morning at the Plains Convalescent Home near Americus after a long illness. The native of Arkansas, who had lived in Statesboro the past seven years, was a retired pulpwood dealer.
Mr. Allen is survived by five daughters, Mrs. A. W. Schrepel of Statesboro, Mrs. Mattie Bell Holzer of Schukill Haben, Pa., Mrs. Sam Morris of Savannah, Mrs. James Ellis of Americus, and Mrs. Charles Strozzo of Brooklet; a son, Earl F. Allen of Macon; 21 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Barnes Funeral Home.
