Funeral services for Mrs. Stina Regina Freeland, 65, of Joplin were held yesterday from the Joplin Lutheran Church with the Rev. C. H. Jacobson officiating.
Mrs. Freeland passed away at Havre hospital Friday evening following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Freeland was born March 25, 1884, at Hatton, North Dakota and came to Joplin in 1910, where she homesteaded. On June 1, 1913, she married Leon G. Freeland, who died in 1930. She had resided in Joplin since 1910, except for a short period in Havre.
Mrs. Freeland is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Sanford Anderson and Mrs. John Tempel, and one son, Charles M. Freeland, all of Joplin. A sister, Mrs. Louise Olson, a brother, M. S. Haakenson, both of Hatton, and nine grandchildren also survive.
Mrs. Freeland was a member of the Lutheran Church and the Joplin chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was always active in
community and school work and was highly respected throughout Liberty County.
