Samuel and his first wife, Latitia (or Loutrecia) had one child, Franklin, who died when he was 21. He is buried in the same plot as Samuel and Mary.
Samuel, Mary, Franklin and the baby were originally buried in the old cemetery in downtown Meadville. Their bodies were removed to Greendale Cemetery in 1855.
