Son of John Daly & Hannah Daly.

Francis served as a Sergeant, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Monroe County, New York prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on April 14, 1941 in New York City, New York. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as an Office Clerk and also as Single, without dependents.

Francis died of a "Non Battle" related incident during the war.

Hudson NY Evening Register - Oct 30, 1942

An armored halftruck vehicle plunged off the side of a small bridge near Grant, Tenn at 7:50 pm yesterday killing two soldiers and injuring three others, second army public relations officials said. The vehicle fell seven feet to a stone creek bed.

Among the dead, who had been engaged in the current Middle Tennessee maneuvers, were listed:

William N. Gadbois, Pvt, 19, Talbot Street, Uxbridge, Mass.
