He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II in which he was a staff sergeant with the 485 Bombardment Aquardron of the 501st Bombardment Group in the air offensive against Japan. He enjoyed gardening, workworking and flying remote controlled airplanes.
Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Nettleton with the Nettleton with the Rev. David Brooks officiating. Burial will be in New Chapel Cemetery. Survivors include 2 daughters, Arlene Langley (Melvin) of Tupelo and Cheryl Mansfield (Doug) of Ocean Springs; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one geat-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his wfe, Dessie Thaxon Coggin; his parents; son, Larry Coggin, Sr; grandson, Joseph Allen Rebecca; great-granddaughter, Stephanie Taylor Wriston.
