Ezra was born in Mendon, NY and died at his Daytona Beach, FL home on Christmas morning 1903. Ezra attended the Western Reserve Medical College and graduated. He was always frail and led a quiet life. His wife was Mary Bryant, a descendent of Stephen Bryant. She died at the home of her son, E.L. Bond, at Daytona Beach, FL in October 1918, lacking a few days of being 92.

In 1853 they went to California via Panama, he was an agent for the American Express Co. On their return their eldest son, Charles died and was buried at sea in the Caribbean. They made their first visit to Volusia Co., Florida in 1893. Beginning with 1898 they were in Daytona every winter. Perhaps some of the older residents will remember the elderly couple who got about in their "duplex"- a three-wheeled bicycle built to carry two.
