Iowa State Daily Press - Monday, April 29, 1918: Mrs. Porch Called Home: Mrs. S.M. Porch passed away Sunday morning at 11:20, after an illness of about 6 days. Paralysis and apoplexy was the immediate cause of her death. She was 71 years of age and leaves one son, Lloyd Porch, of this city and two grand children, Floyd and Amber Porch. Mrs. Porch has lived in Iowa City for the past 47 years and was well known and highly respected by the entire community. She has been a life long member of the Methodist church. The funeral services will be held from Schnelder Bros. Undertaking Rooms, Tuesday afternoon, at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery. Rev. Dr. S. E. Ellis of the M.E. church will officiate. Friends wishing to view the remains may do so at Schneider Bros. Undertaking Parlors.
