Birth: Apr. 17, 1836
Tennessee, USA
Death: Jul. 13, 1895
Piney Flats
Sullivan County
Tennessee, USA

QMSgt Christopher C. Bennett, Company B, 13th Tennessee Volunteer Cavalry, USA. Enlisted September 23, 1863 at age 27 and appointed quartermaster sergeant; mustered in October 28, 1863.

Christopher Columbus Bennett married three times, to Cordellia Jane Smalling 1851-1906 in Sullivan County, Tennessee (Sarah) Margaret Phillips 1858-1918, in Hollow Rock, Carroll, Tennessee, and to Mariah Eads, marrying on 21 June 1888.

Their husband C. C. Bennett 1836-1895 died in Piney Flats, Sulivan County, TN. He married Cordellia Jane Smalling 7 June 1866 and married (Sarah) Margaret Phillips on 5 Feb 1876. Because this headstone is in Sullivan County and Cordellia and C. C. Bennett would have divorced before 1876, it is presumed that the gravesite marked "Mrs. C. C. Bennett" is that of (Sarah) Margaret Phillips Bennett.
