Alvira Josephine Neely was born May 7, 1850, at Oskaloosa, Iowa, and departed this life Nov 18, 1926, aged 76 years, 6 months and 11 days.

At the early age of twelve she made a declaration of her faith and through the remaining years of her life followed closely the way of her Master.

On May 11, 1869, she was united in marriage to George T. Bolton to which union was born eight children, Arthur, James, William George and Charles, who have preceded their mother; Calvin of San Deigo, Calif; Oren of Arlington, Nebr, and Jessie of Clarinda, who, together with a foster daughter, Mrs Blaine Prow, of El Monte, Calif., survive their mother; also two grandchildren, Mrs George Keyes and Christ Bolton; two great-grandchildren, Marjean and Catharine Marie Keyes; two brothers, Douglas Neely and Frank Neely, and one sister, Mrs Alice Clark of Oakland, Calif.

On April 1, 1915, the husband answered the summons of the Master.

Mrs Bolton's last illness was of comparative short duration, but in that time everything was done that medical science could devise or loving hands perform to relieve her suffering.

Friends through the years have learned the lesson of joy in service from her for her greatest pleasure was in ministering to those in need. CLARINDA JOURNAL, Clarinda, Iowa, Nov 25, 1926
