Mary Ellen received her Child Care Specialist degree in 1984 and her Instructional Assistant degree in 1991. Two of the greatest joys in Mary's life were playing the piano and the very special relationship she had with her sister and best friend, Elaine Mae Grapes.
Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her father George, her mother Lela, and her sister Elaine. In addition to her children, Mary is lovingly survived by six grandchildren: Kristin Cresswell, Tylor McCrain, Brooklyn Broussard, Brandon Reid, Riley Thomas, and Amanda Almberg. Mary is also survived by five great-grandchildren, her cousin Robyn Whitaker of Woodinville, WA, and her brother-in-law John Grapes of Ellensburg, WA. Graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2011, 2:00 p.m. at High Valley Cemetery in Ellensburg.
