Harvey Higley aka Buffalo Kid. We regret to record the sudden and unexpected death of Mr. Harvey Lewis Higley aka Buffalo Kid, formerly of Apple Valley, California. Harvey Higley passed at the ripe age of 69. His first sunrise was on March 19, 1942 in Hanford, California and saw his last sunset on May 15, 2011 in Jean, Nevada. Harvey Higley has lived in the Apple Valley area for the last 33 years. He began his journey serving our country, going over seas to Vietnam. When Harvey returned he joined the military reserves and began to serve the Fontana community as a Deputy. Harvey then came to the TXI cement plant, in Oro Grande, where he worked for 24 ½ years. When Harvey left TXI, he joined the Reenactment Guild Of America. Harvey spent many weekends out in the open desert reenacting old western scenes. Harvey also was in the movie Dummy Hoy that was released in 2007. He is survived by his son John Higley, sister, Billie May Bowron and brother Stephen Higley. The family is requesting the presence of his friends and family at the memorial service on May 26th, 2011 at Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Apple Valley, CA. A viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00pm, followed by a graveside service at 12:30 pm. Published in the Daily Press from May 24 to June 3, 2011.
