ALMA - Aliff Deen, age 85, of Alma, died Tuesday evening in Milledgeville, GA after a short illness. She was a native of Bacon Co. GA, daughter of the late Jesse Gordon Barber and Mollie Victoria Carter Barber, wife of the late Gus Deen and was also preceded in death by a son, Freddy Deen. Aliff was a member of the Big Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Reece and husband, E.L. of Irwinton, GA, Jan Howell and husband, Henry of Lilburn, GA; four grandchildren, Elvin Reece and wife, Lisa of Irwinton, Chad Reece of Jacksonville, FL, Cindy Bloodworth and husband, Mike of Duluth, GA and Stacey of Atlanta; four great-grandchildren, Joshua and Jonathan Bloodworth of Duluth and Drew and Hannah Reece of Irwinton.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 11 A.M. at Big Creek Baptist Church with Rev. David Miller, Rev. James Wilcox and Rev. Tony Barber officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be carried to the church at 10 A.M. to lie in state. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Thursday evening between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Big Creek Baptist Church, P.O. Box 306, Alma, GA 31510 or Irwinton Baptist Church, P.O. Box 226, Irwinton, GA 31042.

Active pallbearers will be: Keith Bennett, John Bennett, Jerry, Larry, Ronnie and Gene Barber. Honorary pallbearers will be the senior adult Sunday school class at Big Creek Church. Crosby Funeral Home is in charge of all the arrangements.
