A homemaker, she was born in Tippecanoe County, March 12, 1893, and spent most of her life in the Stockwell area. She graduated from Stockwell High School in 1911, and received a teaching degree from Indiana State Normal School in Terre Haute. In 1919, she was married in Lafayette to F. Elmer Burton. He died January 1975. She was a member of Stockwell United Methodist Church and a charter member of Stockwell Home Extension Club. Surviving are two sons, Wayne R. Burton of Lafayette and Robert D. Burton of Victoria, Texas.
