LeRoy received a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry "with high distinction" in June 1929 at the University of Michigan and completed most of the course work toward an Master of Science degree in Forestry at the University of Michigan until his daughter, Eda, was born. LeRoy resided at 23450 San Fernando Road in Newhall, L.A. Co., CA at the time of his death.

LeRoy worked with the Michigan Land Economic Survey Department in Iron Co., MI in the Summer of 1928.

He worked as District Land Surveyor for the New York Conservation Department, working on land acquisition and management in five counties in western New York.

He was Project Superintendent of Civil Conservation Corps Camp #92 in Almond, Steuben Co., NY for seven years. The project consisted of tree planting (12,000,000 trees), road and building construction and land management of 70,000 acres in Western New York.

During World War II, he spent two years in engineering construction at Geneva, Ontario Co., NY; Chambersburg, Franklin Co., PA and Washington, D.C.

He worked for three years as Extension Forester for the State of Tennessee and U.S. Forest Service for nine counties of Central Tennessee.

LeRoy worked for six years in forestry, land management and engineering on 47,000 acres for Gilmore-Puckett Lumber Company and Missisippian Railway Company in Amory, Monroe Co., MS.

LeRoy worked for several years as a regional planner with the Regional Planning Commission for L.A. Co., CA.

After retiring from the Planning Commission, LeRoy went with Marcella to Uganda, where they served as missionaries for the Elim Missionary Assemblies. They returned to the United States after President Idi Amin expelled all missionaries from Uganda.
