Mr. Brown was a United States Army Veteran having served two tours and received a Purple Heart, the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palms, Vietnam Service Medal with seven bronze stars, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He retired from Carters Electric after 22 years of service.
He is survived by his wife Jennie Darlene Bradford Brown, son Artimus "Art" R. Brown, Jr. of Willards; daughter Mary Angelina Ratcliffe- Pezzetti and her husband Tom of Henderson, NV; two grandchildren, Kyle Pezzetti of Lodi, CA and Angelina Pezzetti-Doyle of Waldorf; three great-grandchildren, Alexis, Devin, and Jayden Pezzetti; brother Charles Brown and his wife Alice of Fredericksburg; sister Minnie Bowser of Salem, IN; his cats, Buddy and Merlin; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, James, R.C., and Wayne Brown.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2PM at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Lay Minister Dennis Bradford will officiate. Interment will follow in Pittsville Cemetery.
