She came to the United States in 1857 with her brother Anton Spath and sister Margaret Spath Lohr. When Mary died, she had been in Baltimore for 50 years. Her funeral took place from the residence of her nephew, Henry Lohr, Old Frederick Road, opposite Whiteford Hall.
