DAVENPORT — Funeral services to celebrate the life of Emil J. Anderson, Jr., 77, a resident of Davenport, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will be prior to services from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Anderson died Monday, May 16, 2011, at his residence in Davenport.
Emil Julius Anderson was born December 8, 1933, in Davenport a son of Emil J. and Eulalia (Brasch) Anderson.
Emil had worked many years as a mason tender.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to either the family or Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport, for C.O.P.D. research.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy (Ned) Marti, Wheatland, Iowa, and Edith (Mike) Vaughn, Davenport; and a son, Monte Anderson, Davenport; eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley (Louis) Meinert, Dekalb, Ill., and Mary Lou Rock, Letts, Iowa; a brother, Dennis Fred Anderson, Davenport; and a sister-in-law, Barbra Anderson, Davenport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Baby Jean Anderson and Betty Mae Anderson, and a brother, David Lee Anderson. May they rest in peace.
