Roslyn Alford, of Zebulon, died on Friday, September 17, at Rex Healthcare. Funeral services were held on September 20 at Zebulon Baptist Church. Burial was in Zebulon Cemetery.
She was born in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Minnie Williams and David Taylor Hollingsworth. She taught first grade for many years before going into business with her husband at Zebulon Gin Co. which they owned for several years. They then owned J.R. Alford Insurance Agency for 25 years before retiring.
Survivors include a daughter Brenda Alford Keller of Mooresville; grandchildren, Melissa Alford of Mooresville, David Brian Alford and wife, Tricia, of Mooresville, Kelly Snider and husband, Phil, of Elk Creek, VA; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Raleigh Alford; sons, Sr. J. David Alford and an infant son; and a sister, Irene H. Dickens.
