_______________
OBITUARY
Elizabeth Whitright Emery, daugh-
ter of John and Mary Ann Whitright
was born in Lorain county, Ohio,
May 11, 1843, died at the home of
her son Dorr in Damascus township,
Henry county, Ohio, Oct. 8, 1926,
aged 83 years, 4 months and 27 days.
She was one of 12 children and is
survived by five brothers. When a
child she came with her parents who
settled in Marion township, Henry
County, Ohio. On Nov. 1, 1865, she
was married to Angelo Emery, who
departed this life Jan. 22, 1902. The
farm now occupied by Walter War-
ner, and which at that time was
primitive forest, was the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Angelo Emery. Mrs.
Emery lived to see the forests give
way to fertile productive farm lands,
corduroy roads, to concrete high-
ways, oxen replaced by tractors, farm
wagons by automobiles and airships,
and the weekly newspaper by radio
messages.
Mrs. Emery was the mother of
three children, two sons and one
daughter. Since the death of her
daughter two years ago she has
made her home with her son Dorr.
Those of the immediate family
who remain are the two sons, Bert
of Colville, Washington and Dorr of
Henry county, Ohio, 4 grand child-
ren and two great grand children,
five brothers and other relatives and
friends.
The funeral sermon was preached
in the Grelton M. E. church Monday,
Oct. 11th by Rev. L. Moore of Mc-
Clure and her remains were laid to
rest in the Grelton cemetery.
Card of Thanks
We, the son and family of Mrs.
Elizabeth Emery, desire to express
our thanks to all our friends who
gave assistance and comfort, during
the sickness and death of our loved
one. Gratefully yours.
Mr. Dorr Emery and Family.
