Born in Ohio, June 25, 1838; passed away August 17, 1921, at his home five miles south of Dana.
He served three years in the Union Army during the Civil War. Was in Sherman's Army in the march to the sea and was for a time a prisoner of war.
He was an ordained Baptist minister and was pastor for several years of the Bethlehem and Tennessee Valley churches. He was a member of the Dana Baptist church.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Harry Bell, pastor of the Dana Baptist church, August 19th. Burial in the Bono Cemetery.
He is survived by the following members of his family: His wife, Mrs. E.A. Rusmisel of Dana; and the following daughters; Mrs. Dora Payton, of Los Angeles Cal., Mrs. Martha Berry of Muskogee, Okla.; Mrs. Serena Gorman of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. A.W. Lyons of Muskegon Heights, Michigan.
