Rebecca Jane was the daughter of Martha Frances (Bandy) and James Nathaniel Law. She married a Union soldier, Jacob B. Butrum, during the Civil War on 21 Dec 1864 in Macon Co., Tennessee. They were the parents of William W., Cenia M.M.F. "Cenie" or "Senie", and Joseph W. Butrum.
--------
Her husband, Jacob B. BUTRUM, is buried in the Underwood Cemetery in Macon Co.,Tennessee, along with his father and many other family members. The tombstone inscription is ... Jacob B. BUTRUM, Co. A, 9th KY Inf., (no dates). The MACON COUNTY (TN) CEMETERY BOOK, VOL. II shows two fieldstones next to Jacob's marker that once read "Senie" and "Jane". These two are believed to be for Jacob's daughter, Senie or Cenie, born c. 1870, and his wife, Rebecca Jane. The names on these two stones were no longer visible when we visited in August 1996. On the other side of Jacob there are four more unmarked fieldstones. The cemetery book does not have any more information about these.
